Chiasso, Switzerland, 7 May 2009 - Allied Telesis has announced the availability of its stackable x600 family of products. The new stackable Layer 3 Gigabit Ethernet switch range features 24 and 48 Gigabit port versions with options for 10GbE uplinks. The AT-x600 is a feature rich platform suitable for deployment in the aggregation layer or at the edge of any network.

Extensive security features and open integration with various NAC solutions, including Microsoft NAP and Symantec SNAC, make the x600 range ideal for networks where intelligence and security at the network periphery are crucial.

Allied Telesis’ new x600 family is available in four switch versions: two 24 port switches - the AT-x600-24Ts and AT-x600-24Ts/XP and two 48 port versions - the AT-x600-48Ts and the AT-x600-48Ts/XP. The two 24 port versions offer 24 Gigabit copper ports in combo with 4 Gigabit SFP ports. The two 48 port devices have 44 Gigabit copper ports and 4 SFP ports. The XP model adds an additional 2 XFP ports for 10GbE connectivity. All switches in the x600 series can be stacked together and the links aggregated, providing maximum flexibility and reliability.

Using the same feature rich AlliedWare Plus™ operating system as the x900 series and the SwitchBlade® x908, the AT-x600 further enhances the Allied Telesis offering. “The use of the same industry standard user interface means that we have expanded our highly functional core to edge solution while ensuring that administrators can easily manage the network,” commented Melvyn Wray, Allied Telesis’ Senior Vice-President of Marketing in EMEA. “The addition of the x600 family to our already diverse range, positions Allied Telesis as a real alternative to larger networking vendors.”

The x600 family is available from Allied Telesis now.
